New crappie glow jigheads take the spotlight … and the sunlight
It only takes a good crappie angler one drop of a jig below the surface to be able to tell the difference between a jighead and a great jighead. But the new Bobby Garland® Mo’ Glo jigheads are getting nods of approval from many slab seekers even before hitting the water because they’re made by Crappie Pro exclusively for the popular soft plastic crappie brand.
The Mo’ Glo heads are glow-in-the-dark jigheads with souped-up phosphorous levels added to the durable vinyl finishes. That means their high-gloss colors glow brighter and longer than traditional glow paints, giving anglers the best of both crappie fishing worlds – day and night – in a single head.
Mo’ Glo jigheads come in three sizes – 1/16 oz., 1/8 oz. and 3/16 oz. – the ideal weights for all of Garland’s crappie baits. The smallest has a size 2 hook; the other two have the larger size 1 hooks. The jigheads are available in four glow colors: Pink Glo, Ghost Glo, Charteuse Glo and Blue Glo. They match perfectly to Garland’s new Mo’ Glo colors for their Baby Shad, Slab Slay’R and Stroll’R.
Even a few seconds of direct exposure to sunlight and most artificial light sources provide the necessary “charge” to keep these high-illumination heads and baits glowing throughout their normal amount of time underwater while jig fishing. Thus, the Mo’ Glo name.
Since Crappie Pro makes the Mo’ Glo jigheads for Garland, there’s no question about the heads being precision balanced. When head and bait hang level like these do, they work in and out of cover much more efficiently with fewer hang-ups. The black chrome wire hooks are super sharp and have been tempered perfectly for crappie fishing. The hook is plenty strong to land the occasional big catfish or striper from a tree, but has just enough give when needed to pull free from a snag.
Bobby Garland Mo’ Glo jighead are packaged 10 per resealable vinyl pouch. The heads range in price from $4.79-$4.99 per pack, depending on size.
